Fradulent Phone Charges

I have been contacted recently by both phone and email concerning fraudulent phone charges made in the name of Small Business Tech Solutions appearing on phone bills.  These charges do no originate from my company.  The following information may be helpful to you in tracking down these charges and having them reversed.

• I have registered the name Small Business Tech Solutions, LLC in the state of Arizona, and previously in Utah.  Other businesses can legally register and use the name in other states.  For example, see sbtechsolutions.com, which is located in New York City and has a similar name.
• An organization processing fraudulent activity could illegally be using the name in a state where it has been registered by someone else.  Therefore, even if you can identify the state the charges are coming from, they may nor originate from the company registered with that name in that state.

If anyone who has received these charges is able to determine their source or the easiest way to have them reversed, please email me and I will post that information here.

Update:

I received the following email recently:

I have been charged $49.95 + $49.95 in my AT&T bill by this so called fake company.  This company is using ILD Telecommunications, Inc (1-800-433-4518) as their billing company!  I call Business Tech to remove my charges they said I need to send my request in writing or email to support@smallbusinesstech.com.  They refuse to give me their address.  It is a pain to deal with this company.  It's fraud.  The email address is also fake.

There is one way I found to prevent this happening in the future.  You can call your phone company and request THIRD PARTY BLOCK on your line.  Its free.  I am still working on this issue.

Further information that may be helpful received recently in an email:

The caller ID number they used is 727-258-6339. Searching for this number I found http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/7272586339 listing cases of this scam. I reported this call to the Kansas Attorney General, Steve Si, using their online form.

A third email confirms this information and lists an additional contact phone number:

I had a similar charge as was mentioned on your web site. I was given the number (800) 773-9904 by ILD Telecommunications Inc that has been doing the billing for this company. I told ILD that I was very unhappy with this charge and that they should investigate their clients before agreeing to bill for them. They were very happy to give me this number, giving me the impression that they are receiving a lot of calls about this. The Small Business Tech Sltns, LLC were very happy to cancel the charges.

I also recently found a comment in a blog post that may be helpful:

Same thing happen to us and they started charging us 49.95.  If i were u call the ftc and place a complaint about them.  this company is call Small business tech solutions.  Their adress is po box 751 palm harbor, florida 34682.  Their phone is  1800-773-9904 and their email is support@smallbistechsolutions.com.  I urge everyone to go the the ftc website and file a complaint, to get this shady, unethical company out of business.
